WebDNA by Smith Micro
WebDNA is a web server scripting plug-in, serving a similar role to PHP, ASP, WebObjects or Cold Fusion. While not as well known as other scripting environments, WebDNA excels at rapid development, efficient execution and powerful database and ecommerce tools. WebDNA is used on BrainScan Software's web server and provides the engine on which the dynamic content of BrainScan-hosted web sites is built.

MacOS X by Apple Computer
BrainScan Software is a Macintosh-based business. Development machines and servers are Macintoshes, and are running the MacOS X unix-based operating system. Apple has done an admirable job of merging the tools they acquired in the buyout of NeXT computers with the revered Macintosh user interface, resulting in a system that Microsoft can only dream of matching in its power, flexibility and ease of use. Add that to a stellar and free software development environment, and MacOS X's future looks extraordinarily bright.

The Studio MX applications - Flash, Fireworks, Freehand and Dreamweaver - provide an excellent set of tools for BrainScan Software's graphic, animation and web development.

OmniWeb by The Omni Group
OmniWeb is a terrific web browser, providing a unique and powerful tabbed-window implementation, the ability to edit TextArea field content in a separate window, and built in spell checking. Utilizing the same content display libraries as Apple's Safari browser, OmniWeb is a great tool for browsing and managing web sites.

BBEdit by BareBones Software
BBEdit has been the Macintosh developer community's text editor of choice for years, and remains the best tool for editing software and web site source code.

FileMaker Pro by FileMaker, Inc.
FileMaker Pro is a powerful yet easy to use database application, which BrainScan Software uses for all of it's off-line database development. It also provides useful tools for rapid development of database-driven web sites.
